February 2010

February has been a really busy month for us here as we have been developing new workshops and planning for the summer term. The classes have been going well and our first 5 week Adult 'Westy Sew-and-Sews' course finished last night. We have had a lovely group who have achieved some wonderful work as you can see from the photos below.  Alice has written a blog post about it here too.

Our next 5 week evening adult beginner sewing class starts on 23rd February  along with an after school sewing club for 8 to 11 year olds, which we are really looking forward to.

February's Valentine special monthly make was also good fun. We had a group of 18 including one guy too... which was  great as we really believe that sewing is for all.

Here are a few of the cushions that were created. More images and a write up are on out blog, here.

Our last two workshops for February are a Family Valentine Workshop this Saturday (13th)  and a special family pre -show workshop on the 19th to set the tone for Clydebuilt's performance of 'Red Riding Hood's Purse'.

We are really enjoying our collaboration with the West End Centre and  have taken many photos of the workshop projects created since we started last June.

Some of these can be seen on the Gallery pages on this website and we have finally set up an aliceandginny blog  as an add on to this news page where will will add further photos from the workshops and other news about our work. To see our blog please click on the link below...
